Dream a little dream with me ✨

It’s Friday again! Not only does it sound like a dream but let’s talk about dreams and how they affect our personal and professional life. Earlier this week, I visited the Porsche and Mercedes museums in Stuttgart. Here’s my quick sketch of the exterior of the Mercedes museum:

I noticed a significant difference in these 2 museums.

👉 While the inside of the Mercedes museum is more about the technical side, detailed history and technical information about the car, the remarkable thing about the Porsche museum was that it was focused on dreams and passion everywhere.

“Dreams never end”

“Dreams turn the world around”

Or 

“Those who have he good fortune to turn their dream into a business owe it to the world to be the custodians of such dreams”

“Porsche stands for an attitude towards life and of the associated experiences”.

Dreams… This is where everything starts. It isn’t enough to just stay focused and work hard without any sort of goal, passion or big vision. Drawing, as a skill on its own, wouldn’t be as useful and interesting as it is in combination with 3 components mentioned above. 

Let me share my story of how my dream has become a reality.

It was in Stuttgart, 9 years ago in 2014 that I decided to change my life completely and bring my dream of becoming an interior design / artist to life. This is when my close friend and I participated in a garden project as volunteers with other volunteers from all over the world. We were even written about in the local newspaper!

I fell in love with the construction industry and the region. It took me back to my roots, when I dreamt about interior design full time, even though my parents said it was unrealistic. 

They wanted me to study architecture, like my mom, who is a talented architect.

Starter kit: a dream, forgotten drawing skills from art school, journalism studies which I couldn’t quit (I’m certified in 3 areas, in case you didn’t know), and no idea where and how to start.

Do you know that feeling when you have a big goal but no roadmap, no mentor and no idea where to start❓Well, I know exactly what it means.

So, I had 2 scenarios: either keep dreaming and become a radio journalist, or take a risk and get a second degree in interior design AND get back to sketching full time.

I swear, I was lost back then. It doesn’t seem that way now, I know. I had to finish my journalism studies first, and only then get back to my dream full time. On the first day of my interior design studies, I told a classmate “FINALLY, we are studying interior design!” And she was like “why finally?”. Apparently it wasn’t her childhood dream. No, it wasn’t easy. I had to work part-time along with my full time studies to support myself financially, and sketch late at night… but…

here I am. Here we are!

My mission is to inspire you with my story, share my vision and skills with you, and that’s why I founded the ASDB Academy in early 2021. So that YOU have your safe haven in all things art, design and motivation. I wish I had a similar community when I was struggling myself and felt like there was no answer to my needs. 

But NOW, I have the answer👇
