Want High-End Clients? Fix This First

Let me guess - you’ve had at least one person say:

"Oh, you’re a designer? That’s cute. But what’s your real job?"
"You’re an artist? Must be nice to just paint all day." 👀
"Wait… you charge how much? But it only took you, like, an hour!"

Excuse me while I go scream into a pillow.

The irony? While people throw these comments around, their entire environment - their home, the shops they visit, the artworks they buy, the gyms they exercise in, the hotels they stay at - is someone’s creative vision.

A designer made their space feel luxurious.
An artist created the pieces they admire.
A creative mind built the branding, interiors, and visuals they’re drawn to.

And yet, some still have the audacity to dismiss what we do?

The world literally depends on us. We are the ones making it comfortable, beautiful, and inspiring.

Bold statement? Maybe. But think about it. And that brings me to my first tip:

1️⃣ Give Yourself Permission to Go BIG.

Before anything else - before learning strategies, before refining skills - you need to allow yourself to set HUGE goals and believe you can work with top-tier brands, firms, and companies.

This week alone, I landed three dream commercial projects as an illustrator (yes, I still take on client work while coaching thousands of creatives worldwide). Another dream collaboration just wrapped up, and we're currently printing the artwork as a collector’s edition.

Why does this matter? Because clients ARE looking for creatives like you - when you know how to position yourself correctly.

2️⃣ Clarity Wins. Every Time.

After giving yourself permission to go big, the next step is absolute clarity - on your niche, your audience, and your strategy.

If you don’t have clarity, it’s like flying a plane without radar. You wouldn’t want to be on that flight.
So why would your dream clients want to be on that ride with you?

Get clear. Then act accordingly.

3️⃣ Go Beyond Social Media.

We’ve gotten lazy. The internet loves to push the idea that going viral will bring you 1,000+ clients overnight.

Reality check: As someone with 700K+ combined followers, I can tell you:

👉 Your views and numbers do NOT define your income.
👉 Your messaging and outreach do.

Early in my career (before social media), I had no other option but to make this work - otherwise, I’d be forced to leave the country and give up on my dreams.

Drawing and designing isn’t enough anymore - not at the highest level. Behind closed doors, top firms and brands aren’t just discussing visuals.

They’re discussing:

🚀 Innovation
📈 Industry trends
🔍 Strategic positioning

Want to be in those rooms? Become the creative who speaks their language.

Exude high-level expertise, NOT just artistic skill.

6️⃣ Stop Doing It Alone.
