This will make you stronger

Remember those things that people said to you that made you feel you didn’t have what it takes to succeed? Well, your success doesn’t depend on them. It depends entirely on YOU! ✨

Has anyone ever told you that you don’t have any special talent to pursue career in a creative field? That you’re like everyone else, that you should get a REAL job, and that it’s difficult to make a living as an artist or designer?

Some of them are probably simply worried about you, and some of them are jealous that you have the courage to try and make it as a creative (because they don’t). And it’s always easy to sit on the coach and criticise others for trying.

I heard a lot of things like that. “She won’t make it as a creative” or “she’s too old to start over in her mid twenties” or “she can’t even communicate properly” during my journalism studies. Some of my drawings were even classified as some of the worst during my art school studies!

My rock bottom happened after finishing my interior design studies when my dream job offer in a well-known design studio in Hamburg was called off because of the pandemic.

I can’t even tell you how many times I wanted to give up and go back home to my hometown and to my parents. But deep down inside I knew that giving up wasn’t an option. If I gave up, my life wouldn’t be better. So… Why not start over? And over? What is the worst thing that could happen to me? Time will go by anyway, so why don’t I use it to fulfil my creative dream?
