Design with Soul and Story

📍Last weekend, I met with some of my students from the ASDB Academy in Paris for a real meet-up during which we visited Villa la Roche, a villa developed by the architect Le Corbusier for a Swiss banker and art collector, as well as Centre Pompidou and Musee d’Orangerie

Interestingly, every time I meet with my students, we vibe and understand each other immediately, as if we’ve known each other for years! The ASDB Academy indeed has the most incredible and creative people! Marie, Julie, Fabienne, Anastasia, Olivia, if you’re reading this… once again, it was such a pleasure to get to know you in person 😊

If I could pick only one piece of artistic advice, based on my experience and all the places and museums I visited, it would definitely be this:

“Focus on showcasing your soul, personality, and story, and avoid trying to recreate reality which already exists. Create something new with your personal touch.”

This is my personal philosophy which I use in my work, whether it is digital design or abstract art.

This is what I’m currently focusing on - letting my soul create without limitations and prejudices, and doing so consistently.

Let’s be real now - the market is oversaturated, whether it is content creation, design, or drawing. BUT, there is good news, no worries, and something which will set you apart from the competition by light years.

The majority do more or less the same stuff - showing their expertise, sharing their work, and presenting their projects monotonously from time to time. What we will do is share our work through the prism of our own perspective and stories, document our journey instead of focusing only on creating, and mix different types of content instead of turning our work into Wikipedia entries.

So, let uniqueness, boldness, and greatness help us create a truly recognizable brand that will bring us unexpected opportunities in return.
